BEARD GROOMING TIPS
Need some beard grooming tips?? The beard is back and here to stay. Is it the key to a woman’s heart…only if its groomed!
Before I start with the perfect beard grooming tips let me say this.
Keep your beard simple!
A well-maintained beard is more attractive than braids, beads, bands or eccentric colors.
There are many ways to keep a well-groomed beard – read on for the best ones.
Get the Proper tools
Regardless of what Beard Grooming style you choose, it is very important that you get the proper tools for the job. Your beard kit should include a good pair of scissors, Braun beard trimmer or electric shaver with beard trimmer or a multi-blade razor, slated or pointed tweezers for wayward hairs, a comb and may be also one pair of nose and ear scissors. Obviously you will require a mirror, some shaving gel and if possible an alum block – this will stop bleeding or infection from a cut.
Steps before grooming
Wash the beard carefully so that it gets rid of any sweat, dirt or odour. Do not start trimming straight away. If you trim wet hair, there are chances that you will cut more hair than desired because its straighter when wet. Wait for it to dry completely.
There are many beard styles you can try today. Just make sure you know what beard style you want prior to trimming. The selection should be based on the contour of your face.
For example, if you have an oval face, then it is better to keep the hair on your chin shorter, and if your face has a round shape then you can try an angular beard style that defines your jawbone. Maybe one of these beard styles below suits you?
How to Trim Beard
You should start trimming your beard from the ear and go down. Repeat the same step on the other side and make sure that the length is consistent. In this case, the use of a Braun electric trimmer will make things easier because you will be able to select the desired length.
If you are attempting a partial beard or a goatee, then you can use a razor to shave off the unwanted potions of the beard. View the shape from different angles, so that you are sure it is perfect. Lastly, use scissors or the trimmer to finish off if needed.
Make sure that you take proper care of the tools by washing away the excess strands of hair, so that it remains ready for the next use.
Use a good shampoo to wash your beard. Massage down the hair to the follicles with your fingertips in an up and down or circular motion. Be gentle as you clean your beard. Follow it through with a good conditioner to soften the beard hair.
Finish your beard groom with a good quality beard oil.
You can do this process before or after the trimming process.
One significant note: Women like softer beards on their man so that it does not hurt while kissing.
Final notes on beard grooming
Do not use too much of beard oil, it can have an adverse effect. Use your preferred product twice a day in small amounts and it will be sufficient to make your beard glow. An occasional massage with olive oil will also have a soothing effect as well as act as a natural healer.
Finally, just remember, that it is very natural to have a bad beard day. Try to groom it a little extra and not fuss over it too much. You will have a better beard day tomorrow.
